iPhone 5c pre-orders go live on Vodafone, free from £47 p/m

Vodafone has become the latest UK carrier to start taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5c, as the scrum to get hold of the new Apple smartphone(s) starts in earnest.

Voda is offering the 16GB edition of the handset free from £47 per month over 24 months on a 4G-ready plan.

That includes unlimited texts and calls and, as part of a time-limited offer, double the usual data allowance, giving you a whopping 8GB of mobile internet per month.

12-month 4G-ready contracts are also up for grabs, if you don’t mind stumping up a hefty upfront charge.

Perhaps the pick of these is £62 per month with an upfront charge of £109 for the 16GB iPhone 5c, which will get you unlimited data, calls and mobile internet every month.

All contracts include a choice of Sky Sports, which serves up the pick of Sky’s coverage on your handset, or streaming and music download service Spotify Premium for no extra charge.

Initially, Voda is also throwing £20 bill credit for customers who pre-order the iPhone 5c online.

As well as Vodafone, the handset is now on pre-order on 4G carrier EE and its 3G partner networks, T-Mobile and Orange. Three is set to announce pricing soon.
