Gizmo ReportHow to Speed Up Older iPhone / iPad on iOS 7 OS

All new iOS is one of the most loved OS and also in terms of adoption its way ahead when compared to the likes of Android. With device manufacturers play a spoil sport in terms of Firmware release for all the Android devices, Apple devices are always lucky in terms of updates as its lightning fast straight from Apple to user. While Apple users are still facing issues pertaining to sluggish performance and battery woes, it’s time now on how with the help of simple measures, you can improve the performance of the device and make it more faster than ever.

So let’s check out on what are the ways with which you can save the battery life with some simple tips. To keep things simple, we only listed down the 3 Top most things which will help you to speed up the device.

Free Space:

IOS 7 Usage

Freeing space will make your device not only faster but also it will help you cut down the battery consumption. To create a free space, you need to head over to the path “Settings > General > Usage” and then you can delete the apps which you feel is unwanted. Once you head over to this Usage screen, it will take a while to load the list of apps which are installed and from which you can delete the apps. With the help of below mentioned screen capture, you will get more idea about on how much space does every app is taking in your iDevice.

Kill Background Apps:

Background Apps IOS7

For your convenience, IOS 7 runs almost all opened apps in the background apps. Though apple claims that the app which is On Screen only consumes the battery while rest of them are in deactivated state, it’s always good to close the apps in the background as it will help consume lesser RAM. Every app opened in the device adds up to the RAM consumption which makes device slower. Updating apps in the background is still a process that occupies your iOS device’s CPU. Head over to the Settings > App Store and scroll down to the Automatic Downloads section where you can toggle switch to off for Apps and Updates. Refer below mentioned screen capture for more details.

Apps also refresh their content on iOS 7 in the background, Viz. Facebook feed will update without you needing to manually update the same which consumes CPU. To turn it off, go to Settings >General > Background App Refresh and flip the toggle switch off. Refer below image for more details.

Parallax, transparency, and blur effects:

Accessibility

New OS and New Animations are talk of the town when it comes to the new IOS 7 OS. All animations are responsible for CPU / RAM Consumption which in turn are responsible partially for slowing down the performance. Though this might not play a major role in doing so if your device usage is not more in terms of apps, but for all those who use more apps should in turn Off these effects. Head to Settings >General > Accessibility and tap on Reduce Motion. With it disabled, the theory is your iOS device’s struggling processor will have more resources to deploy elsewhere.

On the next screen, flip the slider to on, which will “reduce the motion of the user interface, including the parallax effect of icons and alerts which is available in iPad 2 but is not there in iPhone 4S which doesn’t support motions yet. Refer below image for reference.
