I remember when I slowly transitioned from having my BlackBerry Curve to the BlackBerry Torch and then weaned myself away and got the iPhone 4S. Now Iâm rocking an iPhone 5! The one thing I did miss about having a BlackBerry Iâll admit was BBM (BlackBerry Messenger). I love meeting people and building relationships but, Iâve always been hesitant at times to give out my phone number. I did get a Google Voice number and I rarely use it but, I have it in place to use publicly on promotional materials. Iâve never put my phone number on a business card, I just give it out at my discretion and that works for me. When I had BBM I was able to communicate with all my friends, business colleagues, have group chats, post my status updates, share information and I gave out my PIN like candy!
So Iâm really excited that the BBM App itâs going to be available for Android and iPhone users within the next 24-48 hours! I love the fact that weâll be able to connect on different devices and it will be FREE in Google Play and the App Store. Iâm also very excited that you donât have to give out your phone number or email address, just your unique PIN! Can you tell for such a social person, Iâm also pretty private? So what can we look forward toâ¦
BBM Chat â" You can have group conversations in real time with your friends (up to 30) whether theyâre on a BlackBerry, iPhone or Android. Youâll be able to see when a message has been read and when your friend is responding. You also have the option to share files through BBM like pictures and voice memos immediately. You can broadcast messages to all your contacts⦠HEY! That just might be the way my Birthday invitation comes this year! Like many social networks weâre on now BBM also lets you post a profile picture, personal message and status updates.
Iâm a socialite and love coordinating and attending events! I can see myself growing my BBM list and using it as a means to promote events and happenings in my social butterfly world! I also like that I can be social in yet another place that allows me to have real conversations, share information and engage with people immediately. With BBM you have total control of what is shared and whom you choose to share it with. Iâve deleted a BBM contact before and I wonât mind doing it again if I need to.
