Where can you get Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, Garfield, Dilbert and more on your iPhone and iPad? GoComics , our Best Free iOS App of the Week, is the only place we know of. With a 78 AppScore, it's like having the best part of the newspaper delivered to your door everyday. The pro reviews seem to agree saying it's "a great value" and an "ideal app to browse each day." Personally, I love Calvin and Hobbes and this app delivers a daily does of all that goodness. It brings back memories of reading the funnies as a child. Plus what's really cool is they have tons of archives so you can go back as far as 20 years (according to the app description) to read old favorites. There are in-app-purchases ($0.99 a month or $11.99 a year) that get you no ads, a daily email of the comic strips you follow, unlimited access to the archives (not sure exactly what this means as in the app you are able to look at old comics) and a few other things but as far as reading all the comic strips you want, that's all free. So really in the end it adds up to a great way to get a dose of humor, particularly if you don't read the paper daily. Like I said, Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite strip - what's yours?

AppScores are based on aggregating and averaging independent professional review scores from around the web.

From the app description: "Want funny? Love comics? We've got your fix. The GoComics app, from Universal Uclick, is the mobile comics portal for many of the most popular comic strips worldwide. Here is a review from App Store Arcade [1] about the app: "The Bottom Line: GoComics brings comic strips into current media. Seriously what are you waiting for? It’s free so go download it" (May 9, 2013).

And a second review, this one from 148Apps [2] : "Offering pretty much all the features anyone could want, GoComics is an ideal app for those keen to keep on top of the daily comics" (April 26, 2013).
