Whats the difference between mobile me and find my iphone app?

Question by Kristina: Whats the difference between mobile me and find my iphone app?
I just recently lost my iphone 4 and got a new one i was loooking through the free apps on itunes and found the “Find My iPhone” app and i know that you need a mobile me account for it but how is it free? do you need to pay 100 dollars a year for it like you do for mobile me or what?
