The Game’ Heading To iPhone Next Week

Marty McFly and Doc have been abusing the time-space continuum on iPad for quite some time, and now their heading to iPhone. Today Telltale Games announced that a new universal "Back to the Future: The Game " app will be available for iPhone next month, and will be the first Telltale app to support the iPhone 5's 16:9 display.

The new universal app provides the same game that's currently available on iPad, the only difference here is that you don't have to download and purchase a separate app for each episode. The base app, which includes Episode 1, will be free for a limited time at launch. From there, you'll be able to purchase episodes 2-5 via in-app purchase. Episodes can be purchased individually, or as a bundle for $9.99.

According to Telltale, "the release of the new universal base app means the superseded Back to the Future: The Game Episodes 2-5 will no longer be available for direct download in the App Store." In other words, if you have the individual episodes downloaded on your iPad and don't want to pay for them again, make sure they're backed up on iCloud or kept on your device. If you delete the apps there's no way to get them back without purchasing the episodes again through the new universal app. However, "Ownership of Episode 1 will transfer to ownership of the new universal base app."

"Back to the Future: The Game" will be available for iPhone on March 7th
