The promotion ties nicely with the app gifting feature which was relaunched on iPhones, iPads and iPods last December. Should you choose to give the gift of apps this Valentine season, you can purchase your gift right now and have it delivered on Valentine’s Day on any other date of your choosing…
Apple explains:

While our picks feature selections that make ideal presents, any app or game on the App Store can be given as a gift from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch â€" simply tap the Share button in the upper right of the screen, then tap the Gift button.
You’ll be able to select a theme that suits the occasion, write a greeting, and send it via email immediately or on a date of your choice up to 90 days in the future.
Apple highlights a wide range of apps and games divided into several categories, including Gifts for Photographers, Gifts for Music Lovers, Writers, Foodies and more.
