App Review: QBright – One Press to Change Your Screen’s Brightness

Image-1If you’re like me then the first thing you do in the morning is check your phone for any new messages, emails, facebook notifications, sports scores, and whatever else. (I call this moment ‘My Morning Briefing.’) However, when you’re just waking up your eyes are more sensitive to bright lights and even the iPhone screen can just be too much for your eyes to take. Enter Quick Brightness â€" QBright for short.

QBright, with one touch, dims your screen so that it is easier on your eyes when you are just waking up. Press the icon, the screen fades to black, and then quickly comes back dimmer â€" all in under a second. Press it again and it goes back to normal. Simple as that! And each time it brings you right back to the home screen so you can immediately get back to business. The whole idea is to bypass all the clicks it takes to do this manually.

When you open the app the first time you of course have to select the brightness level for the two settings; high brightness and low brightness. Then select ‘Switch the Brightness and Exit.’ After that the app will switch between the two settings with just one click. If you need to tweak the brightness settings again all you have to do is open the Settings app and scroll down to QBright.

Admittedly, Android phones have had this feature for years. You could also turn off bluetooth, wifi, and a few other things with just one-click on Android. These one-click apps are called widgets. Unfortunately, iOS does not have this but at least with QBright we are given at least one widget-like app. I just had to mention this before Android fans start popping champagne bottles.

Anyway, QBright is free! Download and enjoy!
