Salt Lake City government officials announced Tuesday a new smartphone application that has a host of features related to the city, including a way to pay utilities bills and maps showing the locations of all parks.
The free Salt Lake City Mobile app is available for the iPhone and iPad [1] through Appleâs iTunes App Store and for Android phones [2] through Googleâs Play store.
The app is a centralized mobile portal that can take users to all of the cityâs online features, including the government jobs center, building inspections, parks and gardens, and all of the transportation functions.
Users can look for job listings, view meeting schedules, report code violations, view bus route stops and bike routes, and find the location of the nearest alternative fuel station.
"Weâre excited to see our first release of an incredibly powerful tool," Bill Haight, Salt Lake City Information Management Services director, said in a statement. "Weâre getting new requests for features and additional options, and weâre working hard to roll them into the app."
City officials also introduced MySLCGOV, a new Web portal users can access online that can be customized. The website allows people to create a personal profile, add photos and get access to the cityâs Web-based services. To access the site, go to dotnet.slcgov.com/mayor/myslc [3] .
