FixYa has been around for quite a long time on the web, and is popular for providing comprehensive user-generated video tutorials that can be used to fix everything from automobiles to gadgets, home appliances and even software.
 
If you have never used FixYa on the web, you will have to create a new account for the service before getting started. Signing up requires your email ID, full name and a new password. You can also use your Facebook ID to register for FixYa. Now that you are a FixYa member, the next step is to tell the app your own area of expertise (although this is not mandatory). You can specify your areas of interest by hitting the settings icon located in the top right corner of the screen and tapping My Expertise. Instead of being too specific, FixYa lets its users choose the general categories in which they specialize. Once you have done that, there is nothing left to do but benefit from the app’s impressive collection of video solutions. Before posting your own question, it is better if you explore the FixYa collection as you are likely to find that someone has already had the same problem. The Search section lists all the recent responses for every category supported by the app. You can also search for a particular appliance or solution by defining a filter in the text box at the top of the screen.
 
 
If you are feeling in a helpful mood, and have faith in your abilities, head to the Answer section and choose the category you specialize in. After viewing a person’s problem, you can respond to it by posting a video tutorial along with written instructions. Any FixYa user can comment on a posted solution. To post a new question, you will have to shoot a new video after hitting the Ask button. The app also asks you to provide a caption and category for your issue to make everything easier for other experts to understand.
