Chrome for iOS moves to top spot of App Store | TUAW

Google's Chrome browser debuted in the iOS App Store last week and within hours the app climbed to the top of the App Store free chart. A few days later and the app has accrued over 7300 ratings and is still the #1 free app in the iOS App Store.

Chrome for iOS will appeal to desktop Chrome users who want to sync their content across devices. You can sign into Chrome and sync your open tabs, bookmarks, passwords and omnibox data among your desktop, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It's a third-party browser and lacks some of the features of the built-in mobile Safari. It doesn't use mobile Safari's faster Nitro JavaScript rendering engine, and you can't use Chrome to open links in iOS because Safari is the default browser.

Despite the drawbacks, Chrome's syncing features are robust enough to entice Chrome users to give the browser a whirl. You can download the iOS version of Chrome [1] for free. It's a universal app and will work on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
