Developed for SUBWAY®, the mobile app replicates the visual, in-store experience of ordering a sandwich, while giving customers more control over how they make their meal selections, and when and where they receive their orders.
(PRWEB) June 28, 2012
ZippyYum today announced an innovative, new mobile app that significantly improves the experience of ordering fast food online. Developed for SUBWAY®, the free application replicates the visual, in-store experience of ordering a sandwich, while giving customers more control over how they make their meal selections, and when and where they receive their meal orders.
âOur free new mobile app takes online ordering to a whole new level,â said Bob Grewal, Development Agent of Orange County at SUBWAY®. âNot only does it make ordering a SUBWAY® meal fast and convenient, it helps customers to make more appropriate choices based on their unique tastes, needs and preferences. Thereâs nothing like it on the market.â
Available for the iPhone, iPodTouch, iPad and Android devices, the mobile app recreates the in-store experience by presenting every product and ingredient visually so customers can see their sandwiches being built in âreal-timeâ as they select their favorite ingredients.
Unique to the mobile ordering experience, however, is the ability for customers to see the calorie count of their meal as they select products and ingredients; quickly find meals based on specific search criteria, such as âall sandwiches with 6 grams of fat or lessâ or âall sandwiches under 500 caloriesâ; save their favorite sandwich creations and meal combinations to enable one-click ordering, and more.
The mobile app is currently being piloted at 240 SUBWAY® stores in Orange County, California.
âUnlike other online ordering apps that merely present customers with long, text-based menus and ask them to tick-off their selections, the ZippyYum mobile app for SUBWAY® stores provides a highly interactive, responsive and visually stunning ordering process that gives customers more control over their experience,â said Daniel Riscalla, founder of ZippyYum. âWhatâs more, individual franchise owners can instantly update what information is displayed to customers based on the unique offerings of their stores.â
Customers tap, swipe and pinch on images to view products and ingredients, and make their selections, while the app works in the background to retrieve up-to-minute information about the different specials and availability of products for each of the 240 participating SUBWAY® stores.
Because the app was developed for mobile devices from the ground up, images are instantly loaded, ordering information is instantly processed, and participating stores can update their specials and products as needed.
Customers can then pick-up their meal order at their chosen SUBWAY® store, or pre-order a meal and have it delivered at a specific location, date and time. One SUBWAY® store even delivers to preselected beaches along Laguna Beach via an echo-friendly, electric bike.
The mobile ordering app for SUBWAY® is available for free at Appleâs App Store and Googleâs Android MarketPlace.
