Telenav's Scout for Apps launches, allows in-app GPS navigation

CareerJournal - Telenav today launched Scout for Apps, a free service for mobile Web and app developers that allows them to offer their customers free, turn-by-turn GPS navigation that is voice-guided.

Developers can integrate the navigation service into an app or Web site by simply adding one line of code, Telenav said. Scout for Apps is based on HTML5 and is browser-based. Initially it will be available for the iPhone running iOS 5.1. A version that works with Android smartphones is coming later this year.

Avantar is updating its Yellow Pages app to include Scout for Apps, Avantar said in a statement. The advantage to Avantar is that customers never have to leave the Yellow Pages app to get the directions.

Developers can receive more information at developer.telenav.com [1] . Telenav has also integrated its browser-based navigation service on the Scout [2] website.
