Mother knows best, right? Well, what about the days when Mommy needs a little help remembering important things â" like doctor appointments or medications? Meet, MotherKnows â" a new app that is designed specifically to help moms (and dads, too) keep on track with their childrenâs medical information and appointments. One of the best features, in my opinion, is the ability to send medical release forms over the internet to your childâs healthcare provider to obtain their medical records (the data collected will populate your MotherKnows account and app). Having your childâs complete medical history at your fingertips could prove to be beneficial in many circumstances â" while on vacation or in case of emergencyâ¦
The MotherKnows app is available for free download â" however, to use the MotherKnows website and sync your information to the MotherKnows app you will need to subscribe to the service online via the MotherKnows [1] website. There is a free trial that you are able to sign up for to see if you like the services that are provided. I currently have signed up for a free trial and I am very impressed with the way that the app and website work and feel that it is very user-friendly and most importantly â" secure.
There are easy tabs which help you navigate the website: Health Info, Records and My Account. In the Health Info tab you are able to keep track of things such as immunizations, growth (height and weight), medications, conditions (illnesses), etc. â" There is also a place for you to enter in an Emergency Health Card â" very handy to have. The Records tab allows you to keep track of upcoming appointments and doctor visits. The My Account tab is the tab for all the basics â" the name of your child(ren), their health care providers, and other general account settings. In the actual app, there are tabs for Records, Appointments, Providers, Milestones and Notes. The Milestones tab can be helpful by providing a rough outline of when babies/toddlers will reach certain milestones (sitting, crawling, walking, etc.). I liked how in the Milestones tab you are able to update when your child reaches milestones and even add pictures (first time walking, etc.). The app is very user-friendly, as is the website.
I am really impressed with the MotherKnows app and the website. I think that this could be a great tool for parents to have to help them keep their childrenâs medical records/appointments organized and provide peace of mind. I know that I will definitely be using this app in the future and highly recommend it if it sounds like something that could help you out!
