Itâs Friday, and weâre back with another installment of our regular roundup of downloadable MP3 goodness, both from around the web and from our own servers. This week thereâs everything from a 20-minute head melter from Lightning Bolt to some live Radiohead action and a sinister minimal techno deconstruction of a track by Warpaint, of all people. In other words, thereâs plenty of interesting sounds awaiting you after the jump, and since they wonât cost a penny or land you an RIAA lawsuit, as your attorneys we advise you to start downloading immediately.
Kishi Bashi â"Â âBright Whitesâ
We named of Montreal multi-instrumentalist and general musical polymath K. Ishibashi as one of our artists to watch in 2012, and weâve been lucky enough to get a sneak preview of his debut solo album 151a of late. The recordâs a pretty fantastic piece of widescreen hypercolor pop music â" itâs not out until June, but we have an MP3 of exuberant single âBright Whitesâ that you can download via Soundcloud right here [1] !
Night Beds â"Â âEven If We Tryâ
Big things are apparently in the works for this Nashville singer/songwriter, and rightly so â" heâs certainly got a way with a melody, and a voice thatâs more than a little reminiscent of Robin Pecknoldâs. This song is from his debut album, Country Sleep, which is due out later this year, and is available via Soundcloud [2] .
Tanlines â" âAll of Meâ
The simple fact that an award for âBest Band Twitterâ actually exists [3] makes us want to drown ourselves in our ironic PBR, but happily Tanlines are also a pretty fine group as well as being amusing in 140 characters or less. Their new track âAll of Meâ is â80s throwback synthpop par excellence, and available for download via Spin [4] .
Lightning Bolt â"Â âI Found a Ring in My Earâ
Yes, we usually have a ringing in our ears after seeing Lightning Bolt, too. Download via the bandâs Bandcamp site [5] .
Gabo Gulbenkian â" âArthur Rimbaudâ
Frankly, this trackâs title alone should be really reason enough to go and download it via 20 Jazz Funk Greats [6] immediately.
Royal Headache â" âGirlsâ
Sydney band Royal Headache have had a heap of good press in Australiaâs burgeoning indie scene over the last couple of years, and their self-titled debut LP is getting a belated release in the US in early May. This track is from said album, and captures the bandâs lo-fi garage pop charms very well indeed. Itâs available via Pitchfork [7] .
Dunes â" âJukeboxâ
Surf-pop guitars meet Siouxsie vocals? The combination shouldnât work, but somehow we reckon it does â" download it via The Fader [8] yourself and see if you agree.
Warpaint â"Â âBillie Holiday (Sei A Edit)â
We never really bought into the wave of Warpaint hype that followed the release of The Fool a couple of years back â" but we did like the Cat Power-esque âBillie Holiday,â from their 2009 EP Exquisite Corpse, which is why this fantastic re-edit went straight onto the download on Monday. It replaces the acoustic guitar of the original with fractured, atmospheric noise and skittish beats, and itâs great. Get it via XLR8R [9] .
Black Mountain â"Â âMary Louâ
Yay for the return of Black Mountain, they of the mountain-sized riffs and tectonic bass sound. This new track is from their upcoming soundtrack to a surf documentary called Year Zero, and it sounds like one of those gargantuan waves you see in such documentaries, the ones that only arrive when all the conditions are right and then obliterate everything except the one brave surfer who can ride them. Itâs good, in other words. Download it via Pitchfork [10] .
Radiohead â"Â âIdentikitâ and âCut a Holeâ
If you missed out on Radiohead tickets like us and pretty much everyone else, then you can at least console yourself with two MP3s from the first show of their tour, which was in Miami last night. Stereogum has downloadable live versions of âIdentikitâ and âCut a Holeâ right here [11] .

Gemma Ray â" âRunawayâ
And finally, of course, thereâs our own MP3 premiere of Gemma Rayâs âRunaway,â which went up on Tuesday and is still available for your downloading pleasure! Get a piece of the action right here .
