Turn Your iPhone or iPad into a Desktop Phone for Business

Invoxia has unveiled a sleek speaker that transforms iOS devices into a desktop phone and handset that makes conference and video calls for businesses more user-friendly.

The company announced its AudiOffice product at the 2012 Mobile World Congress this week. It’s a dock equipped with speakers for Apple’s iPhone, iPod and iPad. It plays music, makes calls and allows users to video chat with others.

Since apps such as Skype and FaceTime are often used for business communication to help with web connectivity and control costs, AudiOffice allows users to use these programs without having to go through your computer. The company hopes the device will be enticing for small businesses to make the switch from landlines.

Here’s how it works: After downloading the free invoxia app, AudiOffice connects to the mobile device’s contacts and allows users to make a call directly on the iPhone or via one of its apps as it sits on the speaker set.

Calls can be picked up from the attached handset or through the iPhone. By switching to speakerphone, AudiOffice can be used in place of typical speakerphone units used during business meetings.

Don’t have an iOS device? You can still connect a mobile phone to the system via its internal Bluetooth radio.

AudiOffice also touts top-notch strong audio quality, thanks to its four wide-bandwidth speakers and two digital microphones. The price: $ 299.

The company recently released its Smart Office Phone product at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, where it earned a Best of CES Innovations award. Smart Office Phone is a desktop VoIP product that focuses on making voice calls. It allows users to control the phone via an app on the iPhone or iPad.

Do you think this will revolutionize the way businesses conduct calls in the office? Let us know in the comments.
