inRESONANCE (iR) Launches Four Free New Mobile Apps Plus PORTAL Web Services 2.1 at 2012 NAIS Conference

Northampton, MA and Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 29, 2012

At the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Conference (Booth # 208) in Seattle today, inRESONANCE (iR), Inc., a leading developer of technology solutions for schools and non-profit institutions, launched four free new mobile apps to improve faculty productivity, and announced a significant upgrade to PORTAL Web Services (PWS), PWS 2.1.

Anytime, anywhere data access with four free apps
At NAIS, iR launched four powerful, free mobile apps based on FileMaker Go, the top-selling database app for iPad and iPhone/iPod touch. The new apps enable faculty to access and work with data wherever they go. They include:

-Go CallHome (available for iPhone and iPod touch)
Integrated with iR KEYSTONE, iR’s full-featured student information system, Go CallHome gives faculty members―coaches, chaperones, and advisors―immediate secure access to emergency contact information for any student on the iPhone or iPod touch, without requiring a direct connection to the school network. Faculty can obtain information such as parents’ phone and email numbers, family emergency contacts, lists of student allergies and medications, and preferred physicians.

-Go TakeAttendance (available for iPhone/iPod touch)
With Go TakeAttendance, faculty can obtain instant attendance information from all locations across a campus network via the iPhone or iPod touch. They can log in for instant access to their class lists to mark students absent or late. They also can find contact information for the family to reach out by email or phone as necessary. Go TakeAttendance promotes productivity and reduces paperwork by providing instant, real-time synchronization with inRESONANCE KEYSTONE.

-Go CollectNames (available for iPad/iPhone/iPod touch)
Go CollectNames streamlines lead generation and follow-up, while reducing manual data entry. Visitors to school fairs can enter their contact information on an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch versus a clipboard. Schools then can import the data electronically into iR PORTAL, instead of trying to decipher hand-written email addresses and manually enter lead information for follow-up.

-Go TakePictures (available for iPhone/iPod touch)
This app makes it easy to capture photos of everyone in the iR KEYSTONE student information system. Photos taken on iPhone/iPod touch can be automatically added to KEYSTONE records.

“People want to get answers to their questions immediately, and they also need constant, mobile access to their information,” said Charlie Bailey, executive vice president of product development for inRESONANCE. “Now, thanks to FileMaker Go, we can extend the power of inRESONANCE solutions to mobile devices. With the four new apps we are providing, iR clients can reduce overhead while performing complicated and immediate tasks on the go to improve services for students and families.”

Online teacher recommendations, new in PWS 2.1
With web-hosted PWS 2, for inquiries, applications, and notifications, iR has added online teacher recommendations to PORTAL, iR’s open, customizable, FileMaker Pro solution for admissions and enrollment management. By supporting online teacher recommendations, PWS 2.1 makes it easy for applicant families to log in to a secure account on the school website and email recommendation requests to teachers. In turn, teachers receive a link to a secure online recommendation form. Once the form is submitted electronically to the school, the family can see the dates when the school received recommendations.

“Online recommendations round out our application and admissions feature set for schools and families,” said Kevin McAllister, founder and CEO of inRESONANCE. “The addition of teacher recommendations not only reduces paper use, but also greatly improves the process for teachers and eliminates the need for schools to answer multiple phone calls from families requesting information about recommendation status.
