Count Quiz free iPhone app review

Count Quiz: 3 out of 5

This game makes me feel pretty stupid, no really, I am totally challenged by this game which is awesome! This is certainly one of my top free apps [1] for the month. I find it extremely challenging. The questions seem so simple and they probably are but when you’re up against the clock everything seems so much harder.

How smart are you? Did you get valedictorian at your high school? Did you get a masters degree? Do you think you’re way to smart for this game? I honestly think that even the smartest people are challenged when they feel rushed. The game starts out with 20 questions, seems easy right? The first question comes from Quiz 1 Symphony. Questions range from count the purple vowels to count the donuts, the apples and the smiles. Seems easy enough and I even has the initial perception that I was going to beat this sections with a 20/20 but I was wrong. They give you so many frowns and so many smiley faces and they switch off between the two making it harder and harder to keep up with the actual smiles. When that board was over, I was all frowns!

One great thing is that there was no music or background noise. I think with games such as these that test your skills and knowledge, its noise and music is not necessary it only distracts you from the game and leaves you more frustrated and angry. As for graphics there isn’t really any but it’s not really the type of game that requires high definition display.

One thing that I really like about this game is that some of the questions are actually not that bad which helps to prove that I’m not a complete idiot. On my first pass through I scored a B minus which is very similar to my high school days, I wasn’t exactly book savvy, I would have considered myself more computer literate than book worm, perhaps that’s why I find this game so challenging.

With questions like count the yellow letters and tell me how many orange words are on the screen it’s almost so easy it’s frustrating. I thought I was smarter than this but the answers are coming to me slowly and my progress isn’t improving all that much. I love a good challenge but enough is enough, you would think with a repeat of questions I’d get them right at some point but no such luck. However, I would recommend this game to everyone. I don’t want to be the only one who finds something so simple a challenge.

Despite the fact that I can’t pass it with flying colors, I’m enjoying it so far and just waiting for the next level to be unlocked. I’m assuming I cannot continue on until I pass the first board with a better score? Oh well, I guess good things come to those who wait and you know what they say, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
