Giveaway: $25 Worth of ChatTime International Calls via iPhone App | Gadgets & Technology

ChatTime Giveaway: $25 Worth of ChatTime International Calls via iPhone AppDo you travel [1] a lot?

Do you plan on traveling this holiday season?

Something you probably should consider — especially if you travel internationally — is the ChatTime [2] service – it’s a great way I’ve found to keep in touch when I’m across the world that doesn’t involve typing into a chat window. You just install a free application [3] on your iPhone , purchase credit, and initially place the call from the application.

The application does the work for you — sets up the call and debits your account based on the type and destination of your call [4] . ChatTime uses phone networks instead of VoIP; Wi-Fi and 3G service is not required, just a carrier signal. Normally, calls are made at reduced prices–this means savings of up to 97 percent compared to regular carriers.

The application shows you the local time of the destination you want to call before you finished placing the call, and the always-shown credit balance helps you know exactly how well you are doing in your call budget. And it also opens windows of ease – you can get in touch on the road without requiring Wi-Fi (trust me, there’s parts of the universe where that is rather hard to find!) so calls can be made on the go or while traveling, without requiring a computer or Wi-Fi hotspot.

The best way to see how cool this is is to try it for yourself – and to that end, one reader will win a $25 credit to ChatTime to use anywhere, in any way they want! To have your chance to win, please tweet @alywalansky and @chattime and tell me how this will come in handy in your own life this holiday season. Please also RT this giveaway! Deadline to enter is November 15!
