Plane Finder Live Flight Tracking App Launches as a Free Web App at http://www.planefinder.net

Hampshire, UK (PRWEB) September 19, 2011

Plane Finder apps have been a firm favourite with customers around the globe since 2009 and provided key visual information via mobile devices throughout the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull and 2011 Grimsvötn ash cloud airspace disruptions. Since 2009 the Plane Finder virtual radar receiver network has grown significantly - particularly in the USA and Europe - and most parts of the globe are now covered.

Small development company Pinkfroot Limited are committed to customer service and have developed the new Planefinder.net web app in response to customer demand. Technical Director Lee Armstrong says “although our business is focused on mobile applications, we couldn’t ignore the number of customers without mobile devices who are crying out to use Plane Finder. We are pleased to bring Plane Finder to a new audience who we hope will also embrace our mobile apps in the future” With this in mind the company made a conscious decision not to include any adverts! The technology behind the web app has also enabled Pinkfroot to introduce some advanced features such as:

  • Fly Me - pick a flight, for example a recent holiday, and replay it using Google Earth to fly the route in the virtual world
  • Playback - pick a date, time and location to replay flight patterns on the Google map. This could be a major event such as airspace disruption following a volcanic eruption or to observe airport landings and takeoffs
  • Share flights via Facebook and Twitter - easily send links to your favourite flights using social networks
  • Embed a Plane Finder map into your own website - embed a Plane Finder map of your area of interest into your own website

Plane Finder is available for mobile devices in the Apple App Store, Android Marketplace and Windows Phone Marketplace.
