Greifswald, Germany – rapidrabbit today is pleased to announce Free App Finder 2.0 for iOS, an update to their free Entertainment app that lists paid apps that are available free for a limited time. Listing paid apps sorted into 21 different categories, users can easily browse lists, read the complete App Store description, and view the App Store screenshots fullscreen. The Details page for each app includes a Get It button to download the app free, as well as a Share It button to share news of the free app via Facebook or email. Each day, paid apps become temporarily available free, and Free App Finder employs the newest, proprietary search algorithms to find them. The app itself is available at no cost, and contains no banner ads or interstitials.
The iOS App Store application is a highly polished interface for browsing and downloading apps. Viewed on the iPhone or iPod touch in portrait orientation, app descriptions flow in a single column of text that is read by scrolling vertically. Reaching the bottom of the page, the user sees the first of several screenshots from the app. Now, scrolling is horizontal to view all 3-5 images in turn. The integration of vertical, then horizontal scrolling works beautifully when browsing. But rapidrabbit has improved on it.
With the iOS App Store application, the user must scroll all the way down before reaching the screenshots, and then, awkwardly, must scroll up a bit to center the screenshot before scrolling horizontally. With Free App Finder, the text is collapsed so that the top of the screenshot is visible. Scrolling to the bottom is only one screen, and there is no need to center the screenshot to start scrolling horizontally. Even after expanding the text by touching the Read More bar, it is impossible to scroll too far down to begin horizontal scrolling immediately. This improvement makes browsing in Free App Finder simpler and faster. And unlike the iOS App Store application, all the paid apps listed in Free App Finder can be downloaded free.
