Your collection is organised in the usual way, with options for album, artist, track, genres and playlists. Select a track to start playing it, remember it’s being streamed over the internet, so consider using the Settings to only allow streaming over Wi-Fi if you want to avoid data roaming charges.

Note, however, that the Cloud Player creates a cache on your device â€" 500MB by default, but this can be changed â€" to store streamed tracks on, thus helping to reduce your bandwidth and giving you offline access to those tracks you’ve recently streamed. You can also manually select favourite tracks and albums for downloading to your device for the same purpose.

Getaround Launches A New iPhone App To Simplify Peer-To-Peer Car Rentals

Peer-to-peer car rental startup (and TechCrunch Disrupt winner ) Getaround [1] is built around the idea of helping customers to make use of cars they own, which are sitting around not being driven most of the time. Also, to help those without cars to quickly and easily gain access to one that’s sitting around and actually use it.

And so the startup is introducing a new iPhone app [2]  aimed at simplifying the whole process and providing its users with better tools for finding and driving away cars nearby. The new app was designed from the ground up, introducing new features and making the thing a whole lot faster.

For one thing, the Getaround app now allows users to browse and search for nearby cars without having to already be signed in. That will let more potential car renters check out the service before committing to actually signing up â€" even if in this case ‘signing up’ means clicking on a Facebook Connect login.

Getaround has also added filters to help users find the cars they want. Notably, the app now lets you filter by the way you’ll be able to access the vehicle. Getaround has three methods of rental: There’s the traditional key hand-off method, which tends to be slower and less efficient. Then there’s the ability to access cars that have been equipped with Getaround’s carkit, which essentially enables users to unlock the doors remotely through the app. Even so, those cars still require sign off from the owner before they can be rented.

And then there’s Getaround’s quickest mode of rental, which is Getaround Instant. These are cars which are equipped with the car kit but usually managed by Getaround and can be rented at any time. Being able to filter out cars that don’t have a car kit installed generally means faster rental time â€" although they might be somewhat more expensive.

The app also has a totally rebuilt interface as well, including a more visually appealing map, which will also (hopefully) be helpful in finding cars nearby. And behind the scenes, Getaround has worked on its API to make the whole thing faster and more reliable. Whee.

Getaround was founded in 2009, but really didn’t launch until May 2011. It’s now operating in five cities, including San Francisco, San Diego, Portland, Chicago and Austin. The company raised $13.9 million in funding last summer from Menlo Ventures, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, A-Grade Investments, and Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors, as well as Collaborative Fund, SOSventures’ Sean O’Sullivan, Correlation Ventures, HotelTonight CEO Sam Shank, Yammer CEO David Sacks, Saba Software CEO Bobby Yazdani, Hoteles.com founder Matias de Tezanos, Clarity.fm founder Dan Martell, and .CO CEO Juan Diego Calle.

Google Updates YouTube iPhone And iPad App With ‘Send To TV’ Feature, The Google TV Equivalent Of AirPlay

Google issued an update for its iOS application today that adds the “Send to TV” feature [1] to its apps for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The feature allows you to quickly and easily pair your mobile phone with select TVs, making it possible to play and control video from the app on your television set.

The feature works with Google TV-enabled devices, which includes an increasing amount of television SKUs from major manufacturers, many of which were on display at CES this year. It also work with the PS3 and Xbox via slightly more arduous manual pairing with the iOS application. Other Send to TV features include the ability to have anyone on the same Wi-Fi network join in and control video playback, too, as well as add videos to a playlist, meaning you can queue up your very own Best of Goats Version of any song.

Send to TV had previously only been available for Android devices, so the expansion to iOS means that Google now has a much broader potential user base for it. Combine that with the fact that more than 25 percent of YouTube views now come from mobile devices, and you can see how the company would be eager to get its iOS apps equipped with this particular feature, as the end result will be a much larger percentage of consumers who can take advantage of this element of Google TV, a platform that seems to be gaining more favor with television OEMs after a somewhat rocky start.

The app also now features Capture integration, which means it can handle recording and uploads to the service as well. They’re still separate apps, but this eases the workflow at least.

YouTube provides a platform for you to create, connect and discover the world’s videos. The company recently redesigned the site around its hundreds of millions of channels. Partners from major movie studios, record labels, web original creators, viral stars, and millions more all have channels on YouTube. If you’ve been keeping an eye out for the newest entry in EA’s Real Racing series for iOS that was first revealed last September at the Apple keynote event when the iPhone 5 was announced, today is your day to hightail it over to the App Store. Real Racing 3 for iPhone and iPad debuted last night in the App Store in all its free download glory.

Real Racing 3 lets you race virtual versions of real cars on virtual versions of real tracks around the world. You can compete against others using Time Shifted Multiplayer, a feature that lets you race against other players even when they’re not playing the game right at that moment. There are over 900 events you can compete in and you earn in-game currency to buy new cars or upgrade and repair cars when you complete events.

The graphics of Real Racing 3 are crazy good. As shown in its first demo at Apple’s keynote last year, you can actually see the other cars behind and next to you in the mirrors as you drive and details and lighting are realistic and crisp. It’s truly a treat on a retina display device like the iPhone 5. Here’s the trailer to give you a peek (and yes, it looks this good as you’re playing):

While Real Racing 3 is free to download and you can play it to your heart’s content without spending a dime, you do have the option of putting down real money to speed things along. You do earn in-game currency when you complete races but it can take time to rack up enough to buy stuff. Repairs and upgrades to your virtual cars take time to complete and if you don’t want to wait for them to finish, you can spend the in-game currency you’ve earned or buy more via in-app purchase to get them done immediately. The same goes for buying new cars and upgrades if you don’t wait to wait until you’ve earned enough from completing races.

I’ve spent some time playing Real Racing 3 today and it’s been super fun and more realistic than I was expecting. I haven’t come across any tracks that I’ve actually been on yet but the interior of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe I chose (which cost me $1.99 in real money that I don’t regret spending one bit) looks just like the ones I’ve seen in real life. If you like cars and racing, Real Racing 3 offers an excellent experience for a mobile game and you should hit that Buy Now button below toute de suite and get it. And if I see you on the virtual version of Laguna Seca where I’ve had the pleasure of flogging a sportbike a few times, I will give you a run for your money.

Dunkin’ Donuts implements Apple’s Passbook

Put Dunkin’ Donuts on your list of Passbook backers. A confirmation came Thursday that the American global doughnut company and coffeehouse chain is adding support for Apple’s Passbook to its free Dunkin’ Donuts free mobile app [1]  for the iPhone and iPod touch. This enables customers to add their Dunkin’ Donuts Cards to Passbook and pay for food, beverages and merchandise at participating U.S. restaurants simply by scanning their pass in-store or at the drive-thru.

Balances are updated immediately after purchase and these passes are also location aware, the company said…

According to a media release [2] , each Dunkin’ Pass is location aware so it will automagically appear on a customer’s Lock screen when he or she is near a Dunkin’ Donuts location.

The company’s app saw more than a million downloads in just over six months and has just been updated with Passbook and iPhone 5 support.

In addition to purchasing, registering and reloading Dunkin’ Donuts Cards, the software can add money to an existing card, set a card to auto-recharge and view all previous card transactions and payments via American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

You can also gift Dunkin’ Donuts Cards in denominations between $2 and $100 to other people via email, text or Facebook and locate the nearest Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant.

Rival Starbucks also rolled out Passbook integration recently, as did many other companies, including airlines , sports teams  and  retailers , to name just a few.

With the release of iOS 6.1, Apple has restored the Welcome screen in the Passbook application and made it easier to find Passbook-supported apps .

Coincidentally, rival Samsung yesterday made waves announcing a similar solution called Wallet, which looks a lot like Apple’s Passbook .

Wadjet Eye Games Announce Neo-Noir Thriller 'Gemini Rue' for iPhone and iPad

You know how they say brevity is the soul of wit? Indie publisher Wadjet Eye Games must be witty indeed, then: they sent out a press release yesterday formally announcing iPhone and iPad versions of Gemini Rue [1] , a cyberpunk adventure game designed and written by Joshua Nuernberger.

Wadjet Eye promises that Gemini Rue "has been tweaked for maximum comfort on iOS devices," but point-and-click games are typically well-suited to touch devices in my experience, so no surprise there. A pack of screenshots notwithstanding, that's about all there is to know about the project right now.

Gemini Rue has a fair amount of positive buzz behind it: back in 2010, it won the Independent Games Festival's student showcase, and racked up a tidy collection of awards when it was released in 2011 on PC. As you can see in the trailer below, gritty, futuristic environments and film noir narrative are tied together by Gemini Rue's gorgeous pixel art. Gemini Rue is about the intertwining stories of Azriel Odin, a killer-for-hire-turned-cop, and a man named Delta-Six, who wakes up in a psych ward with no memory of his past life.

Maybe I'm a sucker for cyberpunk and adventure games, but I missed the game's first one and am happy to see an iOS port. Wadjet Eye Games will be showing the game to press at PAX East and the Game Developer's Conference in March, so we can assume that the conversion process is coming along, but a formal release window and pricing haven't been announced yet.

Real Racing 3 For iOS And Android Launches Worldwide For Free – Download Now!

Real Racing 3 has finally arrived for iOS and Android in the U.S., and is available to download right now from the respective stores of each platforms. Being free to play, it’s sure to attract a large audience, and if you enjoy the likes of Asphalt or Need for Speed, then Real Racing 3 is a release you’ll most certainly want to try out.

If you’ve played any of the first two titles, then you’ll already know why Real Racing 3 is one of the most anticipated mobile releases of the year. But for the benefit of the uninitiated, it’s a revered series which arguably trumps most of its rivals in terms of graphics and gameplay, with extremely lifelike maps and cars. In essence, it could be seen as the mobile spawn of Gran Turismo, and if you caught the iPhone 5 launch event back in September, you’ll already have seen why it’s more than worthy of such a comparison. Launched to a limited number of app stores back on February 13th, the title is now available for everyone, specifically for those residing in the U.S., and can be grabbed from the links at the end of this post.

Unlike Real Racing 1 & 2, Real Racing 3 is free to download, with many cars and tracks (hundreds, in fact), available through in-app purchase. Of course, you can use your dedication and endurance skills learned from the likes of Gran Turismo to slowly bleed out these extra elements through hard work, but for impatient folk, it may just prove easier to bite the bullet and pay that minimal fee for the odd track here or BMW there.

Often, the as-promised contemporaneous release of the iOS and Android versions is altered at the 11th hour, with the latter often hit with an unforeseen delay (read: Max Payne), but this time around, EA has catered to each half of the Big Two mobile ecosystems.

Home internet nowadays comes with a quota of how much bandwidth you can use in a month. If you don’t want this to happen to you, then you should monitor your internet usage.

1. NetWorx [2]

Once you install NetWorx, it will track all your Internet usage with an icon on the taskbar. You can click and launch the program to view usage graphs of each day. What’s good about NetWorx is the ability to set a daily, weekly or monthly quota to track uploads or downloads or both. You can also set the on/off peak usage that some internet providers have and it’ll warn you if you’re about to reach the limit.

2. BitMeter 2 [3]

This program comes with a desktop widget meter graph of your download and upload speeds. Similar to NetWorx, you can add a quota limit â€" in the case of BitMeter 2, it is named ISP Restrictions. Once set, it’ll tell you how many days and bandwidth you can use before reaching your limit. You can also view your usage stats that can be sorted by hours, days, and months.

3. NetSpeedMonitor [4]

This program permanently sits on your taskbar showing upload and download speeds. To enable this, right click on your taskbar and under Toolbars click on NetSpeedMonitor. Apart from showing connection speeds, it can track your daily usage. You can see track your daily or monthly usage, and also see what programs are connected to the internet. Unlike the other programs though, there is no quota reminder.

4. Cucusoft Net Guard [5]

This program has a very clean user interface that is easy to understand. Upon installing it, you’ll have to provide an email address to register for a free product code. After that, you can begin tracking your internet usage and even see what programs are connected to the internet. It also allows you to set your monthly quota with reminders sent to you as you near the limit.

5. ISP Monitor [6]

ISP Monitor is a lightweight program to easily track your daily or monthly internet usages. You’ll have to set it up first by changing the adapter settings under Settings > Traffic Monitor > Adapter to choose between a wired or Wi-Fi connection. Unlike the previous programs, you cannot set a quota reminder. It has easy-to-read logs where you can instantly see your daily upload and download usage.
