Kensington Case Prevents Losing Your iPhone -- AppAdvice

Kensington, a well known accessory design and manufacturing company. has released an iPhone 4 system that will let you know when you get separated from your iPhone. Never again will you have to worry about leaving your phone somewhere or having it fall out of your holster or purse.
BungeeAir Power Wireless Security Tether and Battery by Kensington [1] consists of a protective case, a free app from the App Store [2] and a small wireless security fob that has an attached key ring.  The case and fob maintain a wireless connection; when your phone and the fob are separated, an alert goes off on the fob and the iPhone automatically locks.
The system has some other features as well, such as a way to locate either your fob or your phone. You can press a button on the fob and your phone will sound an alarm, or you can use the find my key function within the app on the iPhone. There are other customizable features, such as setting the distance before the alarm goes off.
The case has a built in battery that claims to add four hours of talk time to your iPhone. The case also incorporates a stand for using your iPhone in landscape mode. Kensington is releasing another model that does not have the power case called BungeeAir Protect Wireless Security Tether. This system will cost $20 less.
Kensington is selling the BungeeAir Power Wireless Security Tether and Battery on Amazon [3] exclusively until October 5, 2011. It costs $99.99.

iDW - 4oD Catch Up app now available for iPhone and iPod touch

A new version of the 4oD Catch Up app that now supports the iPhone and iPod touch as well as the iPad has been launched.
The app first launched in April for the iPad only but version 2.0 brings support for smaller iOS devices.
It’s free to download and content is free, though you will need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network to watch video content. you can browse through the app on a 3G connection, though.

There’s also a new search menu and should you want to keep programmes forever some of them are available to buy via iTunes through the app.
Ryan Hall, joint managing director of Nice Agency, which created the app, said: “The whole point of having 4oD in your pocket is to give users access to their favourite Channel 4 content, whenever and wherever, they are. It shouldn’t take more than a moment to engage with the 4oD Catch Up app, browse your desired content and start watching.
“It was vital that we got the look, feel and navigation right so that the multi-screen experience of watching content either on iPhone, iPad or laptop felt as natural as watching it on a desktop or television screen; as such, we invested a lot of time in prototyping and testing the app to get this just right.”

iDW - Man will camp for whole month for first UK iPhone 5

That wild-eyed troupe of die-hard Apple [1] cultists stretching round the block at iPhone launches has become a staple in the tech calendar, but if you thought deckchairs and KFC family buckets was dedication, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Rob Shoesmith, marketing manager for US app developer MEDL Mobile, is so determined to get his mitts on the UK's first iPhone 5 that he'll be setting up camp outside the Apple Store in Covent Garden a whole month ahead of the iPhone 5 UK launch, living off freebies given to him by companies looking to get in on the free publicity.
Even though the iPhone 5 isn’t out for another month (so sayeth the rumour mill), companies have been lining up to get in on what he's calling "an experiment to see if it's possible to live off of Apple's huge marketing influence", offering Shoesmith everything from free camping equipment to a personal hairdresser and laundry service. Bear Grylls this ain’t.
As for food, Shoesmith has reportedly been gifted a sackload of sweets from Cyber Candy, bags of flavoured pop corn and an iPhone-shaped cake knocked up by a local baker. Shoesmith, who just to reiterate hasn’t even started his camping trip yet, aims to divine the iPhone 5 launch date from the cryptic “please join us on such-and-such a date” messages that Apple traditionally send out ahead of major product launches, to be there a month ahead of the launch. That is, if diabetes doesn’t get him first.

Developed by Oakley in conjunction with Surfline, the application utilizes a media rich format to present real-time information from Surfline, the leading provider of surf reports, forecasts and editorial content on the sport.
Pro surfers have responded favorably to the new application. In the words of Sebastian Zietz, Oakley global surf team member, “It’s ‘sick’ being able to check the waves without having to turn on a computer. No matter where I go, I always know how the waves are.”
