It's a new month, so why not start it off on a healthy note? Hello Heart [1] (free, iPhone) has added Apple Watch compatibility to its blood pressure monitoring app, allowing patients to get a more complete picture of their heart health right from their wrist. The tracker feature keeps tabs on how you're doing, with the option to import existing data straight from your medical provider. The app also tracks diabetes and cholesterol status, shows a list of medications you're currently using, and keeps contact information for all of your doctors close at hand.

It's your mobile data, so why shouldn't you be able to consume it however you'd like? Amazon Instant Video 3.0 [2] (free, universal) now allows viewers to gobble up wireless data whenever Wi-Fi isn't handy, and for the few of you still on an unlimited data plan, you can make your carrier really pull out its hair by pulling down HD-quality video, too (previous versions streamed in SD only). New settings offer complete control over mobile data and download quality settings, which is appreciated for the majority of us still tied to metered data plans.

Podcasting doesn't have to require a bunch of fancy gear and high-end computers when you have Spreaker Studio [3] (free, universal) installed. This app promises to transform your iOS devices into fully equipped recording studios for live or prerecorded broadcasts, even for those that need to have sound effects added to them. Content can be shared directly to Facebook or Twitter, and listeners can get in on the fun as you interact with them directly through a live chat box. The free version offers 30 minutes of live broadcast time, but a variety of Pro upgrades are available via in-app purchase for just about any type of need.

The update also squashes a couple of bugs related to Touch ID and crashes that occur on iOS 5.1, as well as usability enhancements to the Vault menu, view, and edit screens. If you already subscribe, installing this update is a no-brainer, folks.

The folks at Path are at it again, this time debuting a new GIF-making app called Kong [5] (free, iPhone). The app allows social network fans to create quick GIFs, add filters and text, then post directly to favorite social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, or directly to others using iMessage. The latest version 1.1 update adds Apple Watch support for viewing favorite faces, along with those weird Bluetooth-enabled selfie sticks that everyone seems to be using these days. There's also Facebook Messenger support, better notifications, and a host of performance improvements to make the whole experience much better.

We've covered the super convenient DataMan Next [7] ($1.99, iPhone) in our weekly recap before, but it's worth revisiting now that version 8.5 is available, which adds support for Apple Watch. This app tracks your mobile data usage so you won't get caught by surprise before the month's daily allotment is up, and this version is more convenient than ever because you won't even have to pull the iPhone out of your pocket. Instead, just glance at your wrist and get a complete picture of how much data remains on your plan. If you frequently get stuck with overages.
