Apple Updates ‘iTunes Movie Trailers’ App with Push Notification and Rotten Tomatoes Integration

iTunes Movie Trailers 3I’m a big movie nut. I love watching silent films of the 1920s, Spaghetti Westerns of the 1960s, and any Disney movie that comes out at any time. In order to stay informed on new movies coming out, I oftentimes check Apple’s iTunes Movie Trailers app [1] . The app was recently updated to include Pus h Notification for favorite upcoming movie releases. Plus, now you can read critic reviews of films through Rotten Tomatoes integration.

I’m the kind of person who gets excited about a movie trailer and think, “I’ve got to see that when it comes out.” Later, a friend will ask if I’ve seen that particular movie and I’ll wonder how I missed its release. With Push Notification for favorite upcoming movies, I will never miss a new release again.

iTunes Movie Trailers 2Not only will I never miss a new release, but my friends will be covered, too. Apple also added AirDrop compatibility with version 1.4. If you are telling a friend about a new movie coming out next month, send them an AirDrop link that will open trailers.apple.com on their iOS device. If the recipient of the link also has iTunes Movie Trailers installed on their iPad or iPhone, it will open in the app so your friend can also save the movie in their Favorites section to get a Push Notification when it premiers.

If you like reading what critics are saying, Apple added a feature that lets you see what movie reviewers have written via Rotten Tomatoes. If you want to go deeper than just critic reviews, you can go directly to the popular website to see what non-pros have to say.

iTunes Movie Trailers is available for free on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Download it in the App Store today [2] .
