Lincoln unveils iPhone app to report problems

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The city of Lincoln has unveiled an iPhone application that allows residents to request non-emergency services and report problems.

The free app was presented Thursday at the Nebraska Digital Summit.

City Ombudsman Lin Quenzer says the mobile phone applications will allow residents to report graffiti, high weeds, potholes and other problems. They can send photos to the city using their mobile phone, with information about where the photo was taken. A similar app for Android phones has been available since April.

Messages will go to the city's ACTION center, a service that allows residents to express concerns through the city's webpage.

The app is available in the iTunes store.
