The idea behind the TouchArcade Game of the Week is that every Friday afternoon we post the one game that came out this week that we think is worth giving a special nod to. Now, before anyone goes over-thinking this, it doesn't necessarily mean our Game of the Week pick is the highest scoring game in a review, the game with the best graphics, or really any other quantifiable "best" thing. Instead, it's more just us picking out the single game out of the week's releases that we think is the most noteworthy, surprising, interesting, or really any other hard to describe quality that makes it worth having if you were just going to pick up one.
These picks might be controversial, and that's OK. If you disagree with what we've chosen, let's try to use the comments of these articles to have conversations about what game is your game of the week and why.

Marvel Future Fight
It's set to be a pretty Marvel-centric weekend, as Avengers: Age of Ultron launched in theaters today and plenty of mobile games have been updating with Age of Ultron content and events. The most exciting of these developments for me personally was the worldwide launch of Marvel Future Fight [ Free ] on Wednesday night, which had been soft-launched in select regions for just over a month. When it comes to soft-launched games, sometimes I download them to check out something early, and sometimes I don't. In this case I didn't, as I was really excited for Marvel Future Fight and wanted to wait for the final version. That wait was totally worth it.
Marvel Future Fight is essentially a 3D beat 'em up where you'll assemble a squad of Marvel superheroes from a fairly vast selection of characters and then trot them around various Marvel Universe settings and lay the smack down to some bad guys. If you're thinking that sounds an awful lot like the beloved Marvel Ultimate Alliance series, you aren't too far off. Marvel Future Fight totally gives me that same vibe in that it makes you really believe in the characters and universe you're playing in. It nails that comic book feel rather than simply plugging a bunch of recognizable superheroes into a by-the-numbers game.
The only real negative (or positive depending on your point of view) of Marvel Future Fight is that it's very free-to-play. There's an energy timer, several types of currencies, and a random nature to collecting and upgrading new heroes. All pretty standard stuff and nothing too blatantly in your face, but tune your expectations accordingly. The bright side is that Marvel Future Fight offers a ton of fun whether you're paying anything or not, and if you these types of brawlers or you loved the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games back in the day, this is one you should definitely check out for some superhero fun on the go.
