iPhone Jailbroken Free Update To iOS 8.3
As you know, Apple released a new version of its latest OS and many iPhone owners who jailbroke their devices were undecided whether to upgrade to iOS 8.3 or to wait until this version is jailbroken. When upgrading to a newer iOS version, everything that has been installed on a jailbroken iPhone â" from the Cydia store, will be lost. But upgrading to iOS 8.3 isnât such a bad idea, because it has been optimized, there are stability fixes, the battery life has been extended and there are many other bug fixes that must been taken into consideration.
Besides stability issues and a better battery life, the iOS 8.3 comes with new emoji and CarPlay support, WiFi and Bluetooth fixes, orientation and rotation fixes, messaging fixes, accessibility fixes, Family Sharing fixes, Enterprise fixes and many other features, convincing the users to make the upgrade as soon as possible. On a non-jailbroken iPhone, the upgrade is done automatically, but when upgrading a jailbroken device, there must be followed and weâll guide you through the entire process.
Updating a jailbroken iPhone is different than youâd do traditionally, but itâs not very complicated and all youâll need is patience and a few minutes to spare. Start by plugging your smartphone into your computer, open iTunes, click on the iPhone icon which youâll notice in the upper-left corner of the window, then click on the Back Up Now option, so that youâll back up the content from your iPhone, before updating it to the latest version. If you donât backup all your applications and settings before updating, you will lose them, but the jailbreak will be lost anyway.
You will see a pop-up asking you to back up applications on your iPhone, but which are not in the iTunes library. After successfully backing up your applications, click on Restore iPhone, disable the Find My iPhone option by opening up the Settings app and tapping on iCloud. Next, disable the Find My iPhone option that we told you above and enter in your Apple ID password for confirmation. Then, you click on Restore iPhone and you will wait a few minutes until your iPhone will be updated to the latest iOS version. At the end, you will have to choose between two options: to set up your iPhone as a new iPhone or restore from a backup, so youâll choose the second variant, since you already backed up your applications.
If you want to jailbreak your iPhone again, you will have to wait, because the latest version that can be jailbroken is iOS 8.1.2.
